IT professionals are pretty notorious for making thing possible, but sometimes the technology we use for a specific purpose falls short. In the case of the traditional data warehouse, meant for reporting, you no longer need to cobble together a process or method to make it work for archiving. Cireson’s “archiving and analytics” tool, announced during our recent webinar, will help analysts and admins access tickets regardless of age while lowering data retention settings in Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM).
Your Thoughts on Cireson Webinar and Upcoming Product Enhancements
What was interesting during our most recent Community Open Floor meetup was hearing what a difference this tool will make in your day-to-day work. Some customers expect to:
- Save money because they won’t need database servers
- Prevent system crashing and other hiccups, because live tickets can be accessed and viewed in the portal, along with attachments, activity, history and comments
- Save time during auditing tasks and eliminating the need for custom applications due to easy access to complete ticket information
“Notification delay activity,” and its potential within Microsoft Teams was well received, as well as the use of adaptive cards to provide information and experience consistency whether working in Teams or email. Those managing upgrades were relieved to hear about “IIS configuration” saves between upgrades.
Customizing in Different Ways with Minimal Code
But these innovations weren’t the only thing discussed during Open Floor. We got to see a few different ways to simplify customization using:
- Widgets
- OData tables
- Templates
- Mobile templates
Most valuable was instruction around template best practices, including formatting, and why we follow a certain process when working with them.
